OOOPS!
Nov 7th, 2009 by walkerfm

Kendra enjoys putting on make us and lots of it. On this particular day her Nana wasn’t paying any attention to her and let her put on mascara instead of lip sticks. Since she likes to have her picture taken it was no hard task to get the smile before we fixed her  up. Next time she will be aware of what she is putting on her face.

Leaf Stamping
Nov 6th, 2009 by walkerfm

This was an idea that Mom kind of  got from Crayola.  It turned out really neat and took sometime to do. Let us know what you think:

First you paint your leaf.

Kendra’s was red and Ephriam’s was green.

Then you put the paint side down on a piece of paper and push it evenly, you can do this several times or just once.

Kendra did hers only once and got a great big bold leaf.

Ephriam did his a couple of times.

I* thought that I had taken a picture of the final project show you how it turned out but no such luck. You will just have to wait and see if  I can get one. These will be sent out as cards (I hope).

*I meaning, Mommy. Sometimes she does silly things*

Twinkies
Nov 5th, 2009 by walkerfm

For the first time ever Mom let us try a twinkie. Nope you won’t be seeing a lot of these around the house but on occasion it is nice to have a treat. Both of us really enjoy it even if it wasn’t even a whole one but just a half. We both asked for more but because dinner was a cookin’ there were no more treats for us.  We think too that sometimes mom just likes the peace and quite while we eat. We are looking forward to more treats as the holidays roll around. Before we know it they will be in full swing….

Slacker Mom!
Oct 19th, 2009 by walkerfm

Our mom has been a slacker about our blog! She said like a month and half ago that she would post pictures from our last day before school pictures and well do you see them? We don’t! So we guess we will have to post them and tell you about them:

Wouldn’t be a trip to the zoo without stopping to take pictures on the Rhino!

Kendra and the Elephants

Grandma and Ephriam watching the Elephants.

Ephriam and Kendra with the fountain behind them.

Waiting for the cheetah show. (Mommy was getting Ephriam’s attention by doing bunny ears. Kendra thought she could do the same)

Getting to see the cheetah at the end.

Grandma helping us feed the goats.

Grandma and us watching the Polar Bears. Our friends joined up with us again.

Ephriam and Kendra watching the polar bear swim.

Stopping from watching the manatees to pose for a picture

Looking at one of the cats in the cat house

Jomo the dominate male silverback gorilla.

Posing by the gorilla statue for a picture.

So we had a really good day that day and can’t wait to get back again. Right now it is too cold to go but we are looking forward to going to see the Festival of Lights this winter.

Watch more this week for more updates.

Loving School
Sep 17th, 2009 by walkerfm

So we are now finished with two full weeks of school and 2 days (our first ‘week’)! We are LOVING every second of it and are sad to leave. Kendra asked today if Mommy would stay and talk to Ephriam’s teacher more so that we could stay there. Ephriam is started to spell his name out today while we were outside, however he went E, R, H instead of E, P, H but and R and P look similar. At home he is starting to know his first and last name on the fridge with his picture. I don’t know if he is doing this at school or not but hey it is a start. Kendra today also started singing the Monkey and the Alligator song today. Daddy caught some of it on video so we hope that he posts it so that you can see it.  Ephriam hasn’t started singing any songs from school but he is starting to sing more to CD’s that we listen to in the car. Today he attempted Skillet’s Monster. I all didn’t come out right but hey he did try.  Mommy misses us while we are gone but it has been nice that we get to play with her after nap time because all the cleaning is done! Last night we got to run around in the yard and be crazy with her since she got called off of work! Daddy worked on the basement. Anyway we are looking forward to our next week of school!

Last day Before School
Sep 1st, 2009 by walkerfm

Today is our last day before school. We will be spending the day out and about with Grandma and Mommy. Watch later for pictures as to what we did. We missed having Daddy with us but I am sure that soon we will take him out with us again. Enjoy your day.

Eman update
Aug 31st, 2009 by walkerfm

Well it has been a mighty long time since I have updated you on how well Ephriam is doing. So I thought that I would share some of the things that he has been up to.

Speech: WOW, has he grown. He is requesting more things using larger sentences.  He used to only used 1-2 words to tell us what he wanted and even though he continues to use them he has also started using more and more 3-4 word sentences. He say “I want (insert word)”, ” I need help”  and those types of things. He has also started to do something that I haven’t heard in a long time and that is sing his ABC’s, as a matter of fact he is doing more and more singing of songs that he knows. It all started with Diego and singing the rescue pack song and has lead to him singing refrains for They Might Be Giants, Skillet, Toby Mac, and more. I also caught him praticing his 2 syllable words as he was going down for his nap the other day. He has knows receptively blue and is working on yellow. However verbally everything is red, so we are still trying to get him to say the right color. However he is working oh so hard. He will get it someday I just know it.

OT: He had an excellent last session with his private OT. She has found him a cushion that he can sit and wiggle his butt on. This helps him to get the wiggles out and concentrate on what he is doing. It also help him square up his hips more. Hopefully I can get one ordered soon to have at home to hold his attention better there too. He has also been using it in speech and it is helping there too. He is getting better at making his shapes, using scissors, and even his coloring is looking good. I hope that continues to enjoy what he is doing and improving everyday!

PT: he is doing well in too. He has had lots of chances to run around, play on large playground equipment, he is walking up the stairs with every other foot but is still having problems with going down. We will continue to work on this with him and hope in increase his muscle tone.

I think that this summer has been a good one. He has been focused and willing to learn. I am anxious to see what the next school year will bring for him. Hoping that it is lots of progress and new friends.

Promotion Weekend
Aug 30th, 2009 by walkerfm

The weekend of Sept. 5-6 at church is everyone offical move up into their new rooms for the year. Ephriam will remain in the 4-5 area because he will not be going to kindergarden so he will be staying in the same room. However Kendra will finally make her move up to the 3 year olds! She has probably needed to be there for a while but we are trying to stay within the guidelines that church has set and let her move up with the group of kids that she has been with this year. We can’t wait to see how much she learns being in a new area. She will get to see Ephriam in chapel because they all go to the same room so that will be a comfort for her too. She got a little taste last weekend when she got to be ‘promoted’ for a service doing double duty (2 days) at church. She seemed really apprehensive but I am sure that she will adjust just fine.

Mommy hopes that with all the changes going about the next few weeks that there are no major melt downs from her. She seems to do well with change so far but you never know with her. Ephriam is so laid back that he doesn’t really care about the changes and doesn’t resist to doing much when asked so we shall see though.

Mommy can’t believe either how fast her babies are growing up. She wants them to slow down so that she can enjoy them just a little bit more.

4 more days…
Aug 29th, 2009 by walkerfm

Till we start school! We can’t wait either. Ephriam is excited to start a new school year with a new teacher. She is young but from what Mommy can sense so far about her very organized and ready for the school year. (Mommy missed out on our open house due to her finishing up her Pharmacology class so she won’t get to meet our teachers till the first day of school.  But Daddy had a good time with us!) Kendra can’t wait to go! Even though Mommy and Daddy think that she is smart as a whip she still has sharing and turn taking issues that we all hope will be resolved in school. This will also give both Ephriam and Kendra time to miss each other during the day and hopefully lead to less pushing each other’s buttons. They might even want a little down time by themselves so we will see what will happen.

So what will Mommy being doing in her free time? We really don’t know but she is anxious to see what she can accomplish 4 days a week by herself for almost 3 hours. This may cut Daddy some slack in the cleaning up of the house! We will see though. Mommy says that she will miss us while we are at school and we will miss her but we can’t wait to get there. Be on the look out for photos of our first day of school.

PS: the underware with Eman didn’t last long. After him peeing on the floor 3 times in a row Mommy went back to pull ups. She is hoping that once we are in a good routine at school that we will both be done and in big kid underware.  She keeps pluging along though.
